Chapman University Students Promote Downey Nissan at GT4 America “Watch Party” Open House
Downey Nissan was delighted to host Chapman University students from the Argyros College of Business and Economics at our dealership on Sunday, July 21, 2024, for our “Watch Party” Open House, celebrating the GT4 America race. As part of their final exam for the Marketing 404: Advertising/Promotion Strategy course, taught by instructor Pete Evanow, the students applied their marketing skills by serving as event hosts. The event featured a car show, driving simulators, RC car competitions, book signings, and guest appearances, offering guests an exciting and interactive experience while watching the race live on television. This hands-on opportunity allowed students to see brand promotion in action, with more than 60 cars on display and over 200 guests in attendance.
This event was part of Nissan Motorsports’ initiative to connect Nissan dealerships, owners, customers, and the public to its racing program within the GT4 America Championship. Linda Webber, Director of Marketing for Downey Nissan, appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and contribution, noting the event’s success in engaging the community and promoting the brand. Professor Evanow highlighted the educational value of the event, emphasizing its role in providing students with practical experience in event logistics and crowd management, ultimately fostering positive perceptions of Downey Nissan and Nissan North America.
